A Canadian in London, Rob Baines moved to the UK twenty four years ago. His early career in investment banking proved successful but Rob’s burning entrepreneurial desire drove him to put down the fountain pen and pursue his passions. He secured the exclusive rights to trade and set up catering outlets at Westminster Abbey and St Paul’s Cathedral followed by Tinto Coffee shop in Fulham, west London.

He met his partner of 16 years, Pablo Uribe in 1997 and the pair started their own architectural, interior design and property development company. They built a portfolio of luxury homes internationally, which they sold on to their clients.

In 2008 Rob and Pablo travelled around India with Calvin Klein and the idea of SNOG was born. They sought to bring fashion to fast food and create a premium frozen yogurt brand. The brand absolutely had to empathise with their healthy and modern living lifestyle, get mouth’s watering and minds wandering!  The SNOG brand with its cool name, pink presence and irresistible positive personality, matched with exceptional tastiness and modern, healthy thinking ticked all the boxes!

There are now 7 SNOG locations trading successfully in London. Each site has the unmistakable SNOG aesthetic and brand vibe, sweetened with a nod to the local neighbourhood. Around the world, SNOG will open in key cities with an appetite for innovation and better food choices. From September 2013 SNOGs will be available in the Freezer section of the major food retailers in the UK. Unilever Ventures, Unilever’s investment arm, has taken a stake in SNOG to support the growth of its presence within the UK and abroad.

Rob is a very youthful fifty years old and lives with Pablo at their homes in London’s Soho, New York, Hamptons, Rio, Columbia and Vancouver. In his little free time, Rob is a competitive swimmer, enjoys walks in St James Park with Pablo and Milo, their miniature Dachshund. He is dedicated to his morning meditations, sneaks off to the cinema 2-3 times per week and eats out nightly. Rob is also a Patron of Positivity and pro-actively supports young visionary artists and exciting DJ’s helping them get the exposure they need to let their work shine.
