Les Mckeown’s Legendary Bay City Rollers will be headlining the music arena at the Whitehaven Festival on Sunday 23rd June, with all proceeds going to Cash for Kids and the Armed Forces Charity. More specifically this year appreciation will be shown to the Regimental Association of the SAS, a regiment that is regarded by many as the best such force in the world. Gerard Richardson, organiser and founder of the Whitehaven Festival believes the SAS charity to be of great importance because of the help it gives past and present members particularly in their times of need.
The other benefactor from Sunday’s gig, Cash for Kids supports local children and young people who are suffering from abuse, neglect, who are disabled and have special needs, or who simply need extra care and guidance. Bauer Media, Whitehaven Festival’s media partner, raise millions of pounds each year for the local children’s charity and now another major sponsor of the festival, Sellafield, have announced they will be adopting the charity for the coming year!
The afternoon concert is set to have a lively party atmosphere with street theatre including Titan the Robot in the interval between two legendry rock and roll bands; Alvin Stardust and The Bay City Rollers. The Red Arrows are also going to be putting on a spectacular show in the afternoon. Tickets are £16.99 online now and will also be available to purchase from Richardson’s of Whitehaven. It will be a fun-packed family Sunday of entertainment that is all for a good cause!
