Gumigem is Simply the Best when it comes to Baby and Toddler Gear, fact!

Excitement across the Nursery industry has been building for weeks, but now following hours of rigorous testing, the winners of the first ever Best Baby and Toddler Gear Awards have been announced and Gumigem is delighted to have scooped 3 awards! The teething jewellery was entered into 3 categories and thrilled to have received awards in each. The Gumigem Necklace and bangle set won Silver in the Teething Product category and Bronze in both New to Market 2013 and the Toys category.

Having been created by the people behind the hugely successful online magazines Pushchair Trader and Nursery Trader these awards will no doubt become recognised symbols of product excellence that parents can trust. The awards aim to highlight the true heroes within the Nursery market, the good quality, great value products that work.

Gumigem is baby proof mummy jewellery for mums and babies. They offer a wide ranging line of  baby proof jewellery for parents designed to look amazing, but with your baby in mind. Babies love to grab, pull and chew on jewellery and this collection accommodates this, without damaging the jewellery or harming your baby. Nor does Gumigem compromise on style although it is practical and baby friendly it also looks great with a huge variety of necklaces and bangles. The creator of Gumigem is Jenny McLaughlan who came up with the idea while on maternity leave with her second child in early 2010.

With a loyal and fast growing following of over 50,000 parents, the organisation was certainly well placed to develop a new award system to support consumer choices. Speaking about the inaugural awards, Jo Studholme, co-founder of Pushchair Trader and Nursery Trader and the brains behind the awards said:

“We understand parents, especially first time parents, look for advice and reviews before making their buying decisions and we are committed to ensuring the information they get from our sites is honest.  Having spent hours testing new products for the magazines we felt strongly that our team had an excellent understanding of what makes a great product, as well as unique insight into what is on offer. We felt passionate about sharing this and creating a stamp of distinction for deserving products.

She continued: “As well as using our own expert knowledge we recruited a team of over 100 parents to undertake thorough testing. Testers lived with these products for 2 weeks and fully embraced them into family life – this way ensuring that the reviews are genuine and real. Each and every medal has been awarded based on two rounds of stringent testing and we can assure parents these are worthy winners.  We are certainly proud to put our name on them!”

Having built up a unique platform that attracts thousands of parents a month Pushchair Trader and Nursery Trader realised the demand for a genuine award that parents can trust. The team has been overwhelmed by the entries and look forward to even more industry engagement next year.
