Eating Disorders Awareness Week


Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2017 falls between the 27th of February and the 5th of March. It is a chance to raise awareness of all the different eating disorders people struggle with worldwide.

A less recognized eating disorder is Diabulimia. Diabulimia occurs when diabetics skip their insulin injections in order to lose weight, this usually affects type 1′s.

Diabuimia is a serious problem which often gets overlooked and can bring on a rapid development of complications. These include heart disease, nerve damage, amputation and vision problems. Experts predict that a shocking one third of female diabetics could be suffering from Diabulimia.
