Diabetes.co.uk founders selected for the Maserati 100 2017 for Efforts in Entrepreneurism


Arjun Panesar, 31 and Charlotte Summers, 26 of the patient forum Diabetes.co.uk have been included in the 2017 Maserati 100. Maserati, in partnership The Sunday Times (26.03.17), has named 100 British disruptor entrepreneurs who are innovating within their respective industries. Maserati was founded over 100 years ago by a set of brothers who were disruptors of their time.

In 2016 the team at Diabetes.co.uk also won the Lloyds Bank National Business Award for Positive Social Impact. Diabetes.co.uk is the world’s largest and fastest-growing community website and forum for people with diabetes.

In 2015, Arjun and Charlotte launched the online 10-week Low Carb Program offering free diet and lifestyle education to people diagnosed and living with type 2 diabetes. So far over 185,000 people have downloaded the program which shows people how to lose weight, reduce their HbA1c, become active and in some cases reverse type 2 diabetes.  This programme saves the NHS millions of pounds by reduced requirements for medication and the prevention of diabetes related complications which can lead to hospital admissions, amputation etc.

Together they have grown the market-leading Diabetes.co.uk community to over 3.6 million page impressions with 2.2 million UV per month and 475,000 members, sharing a cumulative 1.5m years of experience, this award-winning website has proven to positively influence health outcomes. Diabetes.co.uk is Europe’s largest diabetes community with members from over 200 countries.
