Josh Payne of Gravesend, who at only 17, became the youngest player to win the Kent Men’s Super-League Singles has qualified for the Coral UK Open Finals at Butlins Minehead Resort in Somerset from 7 -9 March. He will be one of 138 players set to do battle live on ITV4 across eight stages.
Josh, from Gravesend in Kent has been a rising star in darts from an early age, and has been a growing success ever since. Within his first year, Josh competed in the UK Open qualifier and successfully beat English professional, Phil Taylor, who has been regarded as the best darts player of all time.
Josh won the Kent Men’s Super-league Singles at just 17 years old, making him the youngest player to win the competition. Last year he was crowned ‘Bullmaster’ when he competed in ‘The World’ soft tip darts championship after hitting 35 consecutive Bulls, nearly reaching the world record of 43 consecutive bulls.
Currently, he is ranked at 93rd on the Pro Tour Order of Merit having accrued £2900 in prize money and competing against seasoned pros including names such as Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen, Adrian Lewis and James Wade.
